the langfords: SEMA 2011

On Sunday October 30th Brett and his grandpa drove to Vegas to the SEMA show. wBrett goes with his dad every year. So they met him in Vegas. This year was especially exciting because his dad had a car in the SEMA show. He souped up a PT Cruiser and WOW does it sound mean. They had lots of fun the whole week and then Brett came home on Wednesday because he couldn't miss class on Thursday. We then found out that Brett's dad got invited to the Optima Race- which is a BIG deal! Only select few cars get to go. So after Brett got done with class he called me and said "well, do you want to leave for Vegas in an hour?" So we did. Ashley came with us and we drove that night. On Friday Brett and his dad were at the SEMA show all day and were really busy so Ashley, Kaden and I went to the huge mall in Vegas and looked around. We explored and ate delicious omelets at a little diner called The Egg and I. I definitely recommend it. Kaden devoured a huge banana nut muffin and loved it! That night Brett's mom flew in and we were really excited about that! The next morning we drove to this little tiny town called Puhrump about 40 miles outside of Vegas. There is seriously nothing there. Just a little hick town. That's where the Optima Race was. We spent the whole day there watching all the cars race and cheering on Brett's dad. Kaden really loved playing in the PT Cruiser. He seems to already be wanting to drive :)

Kaden got super tired of being held all day so Brett let him walk around.

He gets so excited when we help him walk around that he ends up diving forward because he is trying to walk so fast! He is always laughing and smiling when he walks.

That night we ate dinner at this nice Italian place with some cousins that live near Vegas. It was delicious! We were so exhausted by the end of the day and pretty much passed out the second we were in bed. Kaden hates sleeping in new places and the first night he pretty much woke us up EVERY single hour the whole night. It was not a good night. The next night we put his crib in the closet so it was dark and he couldn't see us. He slept so much better. Sunday morning we went to a delicious buffet and stuffed ourselves full of yummy food. (like omelets and prime rib!!) Then we packed up and got back on the road to drive home.
